There are two types of gallstones: 1) cholesterol stones and 2) pigment stones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Gallstones (commonly misspelled gall stones or gall stone) are solid particles that form from bile cholesterol and bilirubin in the gallbladder.<\/li>
  2. Seek medical care if you experience abdominal pain with a fever, sweating, chills, jaundice, or vomiting or you have pain that over-the-counter medications can’t relieve.<\/li>
  3. Treatment may incorporate medical procedures to break up or dissolve gallstones or surgically remove the gallbladder.<\/li>

  5. The gallbladder is a small pear-shaped saclike organ in the upper right part of the abdomen. It is located under the liver, just below the front rib cage on the right side. The gallbladder is part of the biliary system, which includes the liver and the pancreas. The biliary system, among other functions, transports bile and digestive enzymes.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Bile is a fluid made by the liver to help in the digestion of fats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
